You are in the web view for viewing our Policies online in your browser. A policy is a set of rules on a particular topic layed out by the staff of the game which should be obeyed to ensure maximum smooth running efficiency of both information, enjoyment and the game itself.

Characters, Accounts and Purging

Accounts and characters:
1. You may have one account only.
2. You may have one main character, plus 3 alternates for a total of 4 characters. This includes a maximum of one nightmare and one hard core character should you wish.
3. Only one character may be logged in at any one time.
4. Your characters may not interact in, or know anything about, each other in any way. The most your characters may know about each other, is that which another player says on a public channel. It is against this policy to enquire to other players about your characters in order to get passed this rule.
5. You must conclude any lines of roleplay with one character before logging into another, even if you feel that another character would be better suited to the story. Commit and stick to your decision.
6. You may have one character in the Judge Advocate Generals and the Galactic Medical Corps.
7. You can only have one character per clan.
8. You may only have one military character. This includes the Mobile Infantry and the Space Defense League.
9. Your characters may not use items from, or owned, by each other in any way. This includes, but is not limited too: factories, resources, moons, items, clothing, shops, blueprints, cash and ships.
10. Your character may not buy items from shops owned by or maintained by your alts, and you may not purchase items created by your characters such as ships even if sold on another location not owned by an alt.
11. You may not use, hack into, attempt to access, or change the details of, someone else's account which you yourself do not own. You may also not sell your characters to another person, for gain or otherwise.
12. You should not disclose your password or account name to anyone, including hosts. Hosts are given all of the information they need without asking you, and will act accordingly.
13. Where possible, your characters must not buy items sold in a clan that your alt is a part of as this can cause indirect interaction and benefits.
Purging:
There are three reasons a character, or account, will be purged from the game, listed below:
1. As a punishment: The final and highest punishment of Cosmic Rage is the complete banning of any and all IP addresses you may have, the purging of your character, and the deletion of your account. The purging will not take effect immediately in this case, and will only be done after due course has been given for you to appeal the permanent ban.
2. If you are level 5 or below, and you have not logged in for 3 months, your character, be it a reset or newly created, will be purged. This also covers resets, thus if a character is reset for what ever reason, be that through having been a nightmare or hardcore character, or through player choice, and is level 5 or below and has not been logged in upon for at least the last 3 months, they will be purged.
3. By the person's own choice: We give two methods of deletion on Cosmic Rage, both through the @delete-char! command and through database protection regulations listed through the menu of our logon screen. Through these methods, a person can voluntarily delete one, or all, of their characters without host interaction of any kind.
Punishments:
Owning more than one account is punishable by a formal chat in a conference room, followed by the immediate and instant purging of all but the first created account.
All other rules of this policy are punishable under class 1 offenses if performed unknowingly, and class 2 if you are judged to have been performing it knowingly by a majority of the hosting team.
